ABOUT US
ASIAN ARTS AND CULTURE TRUST

AACT is a Canadian federal not-for-profit organization that provides public programming to increase empathy, appreciation, and representation of Asian heritage, arts, and culture in Canada.

AACT aims to do so via events and activities that honour Asian heritage, culture, and the arts, with the hopes of increasing tolerance of differences, empathy, and understanding. Through community engagement, AACT’s vision is to eliminate Anti-Asian Racism by opening inclusive channels for dialogue, identifying the most pressing areas of community needs, and taking action for sustainable change.

TRUST

In contemporary society, the word “trust”, as a noun used to describe a legal entity, may have a negative connotation, as it tends to be associated with the elite, the privileged, and their trust funds.

The “trust” in our name is a verb.

As in to believe in someone to achieve something.
Translating the trust we receive into action could be an onerous commitment, especially given how the lack of trust permeates through the world that we live in, where people in charge make empty promises, where questionable information flows freely on social media, and where the uncertainties in life simply just make you question how one can even proceed with all the social interactions.
